Baha’i prayer to grace 800-metre long mural

Victoria, British Columbia, 14 June 2011 (CBNS) — A five-year-long project to create a colossal mural in Victoria‘s harbour has become more than a groundbreaking artistic endeavour. Just as important, says Darlene Gait, one of two artists that designed the Land and Sea Mural taking shape on the Ogden Point Breakwater, is its role in uniting local First Nations people and bridging the gap between First Nations’ and other cultures.

Montreal Baha’i Community featured in a CBC Documentary

CBC films Pierre Kabasele at the Baha'i Holy Day event performing a song in his native tongue.Montreal, Quebec, 5 May 2008 (CBNS) — A crew of television documentary film makers from Radio-Canada International came to the Montreal Baha'i community’s 29 April Holy Day celebration of the Ninth day of Ridvan, held at the downtown Baha'i Centre. Over 150 people of many ethnic and religious backgrounds were gathered for this celebration. A CBC documentary series focused on “immigration and integration” of newcomers to Canada will feature the Baha’i community because of the successful efforts to make new immigrants feel welcome to the community.

The Memorial Lecture is named in honour of Hasan M. Balyuzi, a distinguished historian of the Baha'i Faith.
